Nocebo

Nocebo follows fashion designer Christine (Eva Green) who is suffering from a mysterious illness that puzzles her doctors and frustrates her husband (Mark Strong). Help appears in the unsolicited arrival of Diana (Chai Fonacier), a Filipina helper, who insinuates herself into the household and begins to use her traditional folk medicine on Christine to reveal a horrifying truth. Reuniting director Lorcan Finnegan and writer Garret Shanley (Vivarium, Without Name) this stylish supernatural drama (set in London but filmed in elegant Dublin suburbs) carries a timely political message about the consequences of economic exploitation by the fashion industry and is a fine vehicle for the ever-watchable Eva Green who disintegrates before our very eyes.
