Actor-director Mathias Mlekuz lost his son Youri in 2022. Joined by fellow actor and friend Philippe Rebbot, he decides to retrace his son’s bicycle journey to Turkey, from an account that he had published as a book. This serves as a roadmap for this largely improvised docudrama where two old friends and a dog cross Europe from the Atlantic to the Black Sea. Profoundly moving and humorous, Mlekuz and his companion reflect on how to grieve and mourn, to open one’s heart in new ways, rediscovering connection after tragedy.
