Tina
Annie Mae Bullock was introduced to the public as Tina Turner in 1960, with the release of A Fool In Love, a duet with Ike Turner. After initially working with Phil Spector, the two had great success until the romantic and professional partnership ended in 1976. However, it was not until an interview with People magazine in 1981 that details of the life Tina had endured at Ike’s monstrously cruel, violent, and controlling hands became public. This raw and intimate documentary, featuring extensive archive footage as well as contemporary interviews with Turner, celebrates not only the strength of will it took to free herself from her past and forge a massively successful career, but also the fierce and magnificent singer and performer she has always been.
