Renowned theatre company Cheek by Jowl join forces with filmmaker Sophie Fiennes to observe and document the company’s unique approach to acting and rehearsal. Using four key scenes and several soliloquies from Macbeth, theatre directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod unpack Shakespeare’s famous dialogue with unconventional and often profound interpretations and innovative stage direction. The end result is a thrilling celebration of the artistic process.

Acting will screen in the Irish Film Institute on Sunday the 27th of September as part of the IFI Documentary Festival. Following this the film will be available for rental from Monday September 28th until Monday October 5th.
