Five and a Half Love Stories in an Apartment in Vilnius, Lithuania

Winner of the Rebels With A Cause award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, director Tomas Vengris’s admirable ability to deftly weave narratives is illustrated in this variety of love stories involving international visitors to an Airbnb apartment in the Lithuanian capital. Unhappily-married Meghan (Valene Kane) finds herself tempted by the stripper entertaining the hen party of her younger sister (Alison Oliver); Issa and Galia find their attempts to fall pregnant are complicated in ways they hadn’t realised; an ageing Hungarian bachelor tries to woo a local girl; and the object of Meghan’s affections faces his own romantic difficulties. Between tenants, the apartment is maintained by Jolanta (Velta Žyugurė), for whom it may also offer an opportunity for love.
