Legendary Children (All of Them Queer)

48m Documentary 2025

Filmed over the course of two years, Robert Falconer’s documentary follows former members of the UK branch of the Gay Liberation Front (1970-1973) as they reminisce over what was arguably Europe’s first Pride Parade in London in 1972, and look forward to the march’s celebration of its fiftieth anniversary. The recollections of these pioneers bring to vivid life a time when closeted behaviour was the norm, and when overt homosexual behaviour was met with overt hostility, homosexuality having been decriminalised in England just five years earlier. At a time when the broader community is once again facing ramped up rhetoric and systemic hostility simply for being who they are, the brave, committed activists in Falconer’s film offer a hopeful example of how social change has been effected before, and can be again.
