Love in the Afternoon

The final ‘Moral Tale’ centres on Frédéric (Bernard Varley), who, although happily married to Hélène (Françoise Verley), who will soon give birth to their second child, fantasises about affairs with random women he sees in the street. However, it is not until the reappearance of Chloé (Zouzou), an old friend’s former girlfriend, that Frédéric seriously considers straying, tempted by the friendship he forms with her and the freedom he feels in speaking to her compared to his relationship with his wife. The film was remade as I Think I Love My Wife (2007), directed by and starring Chris Rock.
