The President's Cake
Hasan Hadi’s award-winning debut feature follows nine-year-old Lamia, who has been selected to bake the cake for her class’s obligatory celebration of President Saddam Hussein’s birthday, a nearly impossible task in a country ravaged by war and scarcity.
