The team at the Irish Film Institute, like many other cultural organisations, is currently contemplating the devastating effects of COVID-19 for our patrons, funders and supporters.
We hope that you and your loved ones are all keeping well and safe during these very strange times.
While we are all taking a collective breath, we have been sharing more of the work that takes place behind the scenes to our community through our digital channels including our subscriber newsletters, social media and free access for everyone to the IFI Player.
We hope that you have been enjoying the featured material from our archive, trivia, podcasts and recorded Q&As which highlight the wealth of resources we have on offer here in terms of documenting our heritage.
As the home of film in Ireland, we seek to be an inspiring, creative influence and promote a wider understanding of film culture and its critical importance.
The breadth of the impact of COVID-19 for the IFI remains to be seen and we are working to be as ready as possible for the next steps.
As a charity, all our revenues go back into the organisation to facilitate all our planned activities including our educational programmes and the archive, as well as the projected income to support all not-for-profit work.
As you might imagine, the loss of revenue has deep implications for us and the people that we provide services to - the extent of which we cannot fully gauge yet.
IFI gratefully receives 25% of its funding from the Arts Council and the rest of our required income is generated through our in-house streams and fundraising.
If you would like to help us, we would be most appreciative of your support.
We hope to have our home up and running to welcome you all back with our full team of 83 staff as soon as possible.
